Lifestyle
It takes time for Atein's efforts to pay off but now that she knows the alternative, she tries very hard to restrain herself from diving headfirst into the river of dreams and letting it carry her as it will. It's certainly interesting, and worthy of exploration, but in moderation. This way, Atein can not only find the most creative dreams she's ever seen, but learn from them too, and later share the knowledge she's gleaned with her caretaker. And even when it's a creative, joyous little daydream long outgrown, she simply enjoys experiencing it and then moves on. Eventually, Atein finds she's no longer swept away, but able to go deeper in the river of dreams without losing herself, and this is when she evolves into Amethyst.
Now that Amethyest has learned to focus and moderate the time she spends involved in the river of dreams, she can reach the river floor, and there, embedded deep in the crystalline surface, she comes across gemstones. They resemble the ones she wears and with effort, she can usually bring some back to the physical world to share with her caretaker.
Amethyest has learned the value of temperance now that she's older and, able to spend more time in the physical world, she can share it with the other creatures too. The stones Amethyest found also help. They encourage temperance for some and for others, also strengthen self-control, reminding them that sometimes, restraint is necessary so they don't lose sight of what's truly important to them.
