An endearing, but clumsy young bird.
Lifestyle
The moment she stumbles from her egg, Burrim dedicates her time to four things: eating, sleeping (preferably near her caretaker), running and talking. Like most young creatures, she excels at eating and sleeping and needs very little practice to become a master at both. Running and talking are a different matter, however.
Burrim is a young bird and as such, very wobbly on her feet. She's full of energy and loves to run, but tends to fall down a lot when doing it. She's also very hardy and persistent though, and no amount of falling can stop her from getting up and running (or at least wobbling at a fast pace) again.
Talking also requires some work on Burrim's part. Burrim is very clever and learns new words after hearing them just once. It doesn't take her long to acquire an impressive vocabulary. Her favorite words are forever those she learned first and she works them into sentences whenever possible, so her caretaker is advised to watch their language for the first week after Burrim hatches.
His extensive vocabulary notwithstanding, there is a slight obstacle to overcome with Burrim's talking: she has an incredibly loud voice. Burrim's voice is booming and can be heard miles away. And while this will serve her very well later in life, it's a bit over the top when talking to people in the same kitchen. So in addition to building her vocabulary, Burrim also practices controlling the volume of this voice. Once she has though, her caretaker finds her to be an eloquent companion with a lovely harmonic voice.
